I then stuck pieces of thin and corrugated cardboard to this to build up the desired shape (around the bunny nostrils and ears especially). Several layers of papier mache were then applied, using thin rolled up pieces of newspaper to fill in certain gaps and give shape to the ears.
The mask was then coated in textured paint (paint + sand) before the final coats in black and gold was applied.
